In addition to welcoming back Bandmaster Brian Burditt, the summer of 2006 witnessed several other changes in personnel in the band, including the following:

New Members

Phil Rayment (trombone) - Mountain Citadel, Hamilton, Ontario
Rick Allington (horn) - North York Temple, Toronto

One further change of note is that John Lam has now taken on the position of deputy bandmaster, in succession to Steve Brown who had held this position since 2002. John is the bandmaster at London Citadel and is already making his own impact on the band during rehearsals that he leads when Brian is away and select items that he conducts during some of our public performances.

We are grateful to Steve Brown for his leadership as deputy bandmaster during the past four years, particularly during the difficult 2005-2006 season when he was called on several times to step in for Bandmaster Kevin Hayward, often on very short notice. Steve’s leadership of the band was particularly appreciated during the band’s visit to Old Orchard Beach in July. One of the longest serving members of the CSB, he continues to be the band’s principal cornet and leader of all our vocal items. Thanks, Steve.
