CSB Retreat

February 18, 2007 Add comment

On the weekend of February 2-4, the Canadian Staff Band came together at Jackson's Point Conference Centre for a time of rich fellowship and spiritual refreshment. Present were current band members along with their spouses and significant others, as we met under the leadership of Lt-Colonels Merv and Mary Belle Leach. Lt-Colonel Merv Leach was the band's executive officer from 1992 to 1994 and again in 2004-2005.

A rich time of fun and fellowship was had throughout the weekend, with a highlight being the individual signing of the newly revised "Manual of Operation and Terms of Reference." Three former documents outlining CSB policies and procedures had been pulled together into one new manual by Major Ron Millar and Deputy Bandmaster John Lam. It was a moving spiritual moment as each band member renewed his or her commitment during a time of prayer and reflection.

The retreat marked the first time in several years that the CSB was able to gather for a full weekend such as this and the event was appreciated by all who took part. We returned home grateful for the opportunity to come together in this unique way and thankful for all God is continuing to do through the band's ministry.
